Weekly Update 31/01/20

Senior Students – Attendance Responsibility

In Senior School students follow a number of different timetables which often include elements both in and out of school; with this flexibility there is an element of responsibility on the student to ensure that the school know their whereabouts.

It is the responsibility of students in S5 & 6 to ensure that they sign both out and in with the school office when they are out of school for any reason, including regular weekly events such as Volunteering and Work Placement. If a student does not do this then a group call will be sent home as the school does not know the whereabouts of the student as we cannot simply assume that a student has left the building or returned to the school.

Recently some senior students have been studying independently, without getting permission from class teachers, which results in the student being marked absent and a group call being sent home. If a study arrangement has been made with a class teacher it is still the responsibility of the student to ensure that they register with that teacher before going to study area, again to ensure that the school know their whereabouts as again we cannot assume they are present.

All Senior Students are aware of these arrangements.
