KHS Careers Fair 03/03/20

Over 30 local employers/businesses, Universities and Colleges are attending to help our young people make informed decisions about their future options. There will be tea/coffee and home baking to enjoy as well as Quarriers, Careers Advisors and school staff on hand to support parents and pupils.  We look forward to seeing you – drop in for as little or as long as you would like!

#INSPIRECAFE

On Monday night we held our first Inspire Café session for parents/carers.  This involved a hands on experience for those who attended from Mr Graham and Mr Connell.  It was an opportunity allow parents/carers to see and use some of the apps that are used in class. Thank you to those who attended and to our Inspire leaders for running these. Initial feedback that was collected on the night was very positive and we are already planning our next session.

Senior Surgery Evening 03/03/20

Reminder that on the same evening as our Career Fair, we are holding our Senior Surgery.  This is an opportunity to book (using our online system) a 10 minute appointment with a teacher to discuss prelim results and next steps to ensure success in May.  Staff have requested appointments within the Senior Reports that were issued on Wednesday.

Course Choice Process

Today we met with all young people within S2 to complete their subject choices for next session.  If any young person missed their appointment today please speak to their Pastoral Teacher asap next week.

Next week, our current S3 will be involved in a series of information sessions from each of the Faculties.  This will be an opportunity to hear about each of the courses that are being offered within the Senior Phase and an opportunity to ask any questions.

On Friday, Pastoral/SLT will meet with young people within S4 and S5 who are planning on returning to KHS for another year to complete their subject choices.
