More information will be shared regarding booking appointments shortly.

Flu Immunisations
Please ensure all flu immunisation forms are returned to the school office as soon as possible. Even if you do not wish for your young person to receive the flu immunisation, this must be ticked on the form and signed.
S1 Assembly – Appropriate Use of Social Media
Thank you to PC Tait-Logan who came along to our S1 Assembly on Tuesday morning to talk to our S1 learners about Appropriate Use of Social Media. Key messages to our learners from PC Tait-Logan were Be Kind and Be Respectful.

Showbie
Over the past term Showbie – the online learning platform used in classes – has become well established as a learning, teaching and assessment tool for learners in S1-3. All Faculties have committed to sharing a minimum of one piece of annotated/commented upon work per subject per term to learner Showbie Portfolios. This means that parents and carers with a linked account will be able to see any work that teachers or learners have shared and will complement our reports.
We have recently been made aware that some families are encountering difficulties accessing and/or using Showbie. We are aware that there are a small number of duplicate accounts on the system, as well as a few parents (particularly those with young people in S2 and S3) whose codes do not appear to have linked correctly. We are working with Showbie to rectify these issues. However, most queries can be resolved by consulting Showbie’s comprehensive online support which can be found HERE. If this is unsuccessful, please get in touch with the school office and a member of our KHS Showbie team will contact you directly.
Well done N2 Practical Crafts
Prepare to be amazed. A huge well done to our N2 Practical Crafts class who have been studying the life and art of Alberto Giacometti. Inspired by their research they then made their own Giacometti inspired sculptures. Everyone in the group made such a fantastic effort and as you can see the end results are impressive. Many thanks to Mrs Dyer and Ms Burn for the photos! #pridekhs

S3 Business/IT Class Guest Speaker
S3 Business/IT classes were delighted to welcome Bayil Adeoti as their guest speaker on Wednesday. Ms Adeoti gave an inspiring insight into #socialentrepreneurship, sharing her extensive knowledge and experiences. The class were left with lots of ideas and enthusiasm to start the planning stages of setting up their own #socialenterprise. Keep an eye out for more info from our budding entrepreneurs at KHS! #pridekhs @socentacademy

SSAA Road Race 2023
Before the October break some of our talented Athletes made the trip to Pittencrief Park in Dunfermline to compete in the SSAA Road Race Championships. As always, the event attracted runners from schools the length and breadth of the country. Our participation numbers have grown in recent years, highlighting the continued commitment of young people running in Kelso.
The (hilly) course was run over paths and roadways in awful weather conditions, but this didn’t stop the KHS athletes giving a strong account of themselves. The results were as follows:
S1 girls race- Evie Leonard 42nd out of 117 runners
S1 boys race- James Ramage 64th out of 108 runners
S2 girls race- Rachel Dumma 30th out of 119 runners
S2 boys race- Harry Fleming 105th out of 110 runners. Leo Tait, unfortunately succumbed to an injury.
S3/4 boys race- Oliver Hastie 43rd, Matty Fleming 62nd, Jasper Harrison 144th, Isaac Lewis 156th out of 179 runners.
Well done to every single athlete who attended and focus now turns to the Cross Country scene in early 2024.
Further thanks to the support team of parents who also attended, assisting with transport, warm-ups and cheering the athletes round the course. As always, your support is especially appreciated!
