Welcome Back
Our young people did themselves and KHS proud this week during their first week back. It was lovely to see so many enthusiastic and smartly dressed young people demonstrating our school values. A reminder that we continue to hold a stock of school ties within our school office at a cost of £7.
We will continue to use our ‘Weekly Update’ along with social media to showcase and provide regular updates on what is happening within school.

SQA Updates
We are very proud of all our young people who gained qualifications on the 9th August. With ongoing support from staff, family and our wider community they remained dedicated, determined and persevered to achieve individual targets and goals.
Key highlights from our 2022 SQA performance include an increase in the number of our students gaining 5 or more Higher awards within S5 along with the quality of our Advanced Higher grades within S6.
For those young people who were disappointed with their results we will continue to work with them along with staff to establish who is eligible for an appeal. A confirmation email will be sent to all those candidates prior to submitting the required evidence and request for an appeal to SQA.

Groupcall Xpressions
We strongly encourage all parents/carers to download the Groupcall Xpressions app. This is a great way for you to view messages from your child’s school through an App on your mobile phone or tablet. You can also use this app to send messages to the school and report absences.
ParentSpace Sessions
ParentSpace are partnering with Cheviot Youth for Dads only and Parenting in the teenage years. Dads only starts on Monday the 22nd of August and Parenting in the teenage years Monday 26th of September.

Lottery Draw – July 2022
The numbers drawn were 11, 12 and 18.
Unfortunately there was no winner this month.
The prize fund of approximately £380 will roll over and be drawn at the end of August.
