S5/6 Parents’ Evening – Wednesday 22^nd November 2023

We look forward to welcoming S5/S6 parents/carers on Wednesday 22^nd November to Parents’ Evening. The booking system is still open until 5pm on Tuesday 21^st November.

Cyber Resilience and Internet Safety Session

We would like to invite parent/carers to attend our parent information session on Thursday 23^rd November from 6.30pm – 7.30pm.  This session will be led from Paul Graham, INSPIRE Development Leader.

S2 Parent Information Evening – 6^th December 6pm

We would like to invite our parents/carers of S2 pupils to attend our information session.  This event will allow us to share information from key staff along with opportunities from you on what is going on and what areas you would like more information.

S3-S6 Parent/Carer Study Skills Session

If any parents/carers are interested in signing up to a study skills session to help your child study/revise please do so by emailing :

·       Your child’s name

·       The title of the event (Parental Study Skills Session 1 Retrieval Practice) to KelsoHS@scotborders.gov.uk by Friday 24^th November

This session has been very popular with pupils.

KHS Remembers

KHS Remembers. Last Friday Kelso High School learners, staff and members of the wider KHS community gathered to take part in our annual Armistice Ceremony. Led by Mrs Lothian and the S6 Head Team, our KHS Values of Participation, Respect and Included were to the fore in this solemn and moving ceremony. #pridekhs

S2 Repurposing Challenge

This week some of our S2 students took part in a ‘Repurposing challenge’. They conducted a survey throughout a former Church and came up with original and imaginative ideas for how to repurpose it. Young people then assumed a variety of roles, such as those of developers, building surveyors, designers, accountants, and presenters. Our grateful thanks to our outstanding industry mentors who have given their time to guide and support the group. Well done S2!

Stargazing Talk

We will be hosting a talk from a local astronomer in school on the afternoon of Tuesday 5^th December.  Any pupils who are interested space and stargazing and would like to attend the talk should come to a short meeting on Wednesday 22^nd November at 1.45 in 1009 (Mrs Robertson’s room). 

Careers Week 2023

Success in Social Subjects and Business Facility!

In the Social Subjects and Business faculty this week, we have been updating our Business Wall of Wonderful Work to display all the excellent pieces of work which have been produced throughout this term so far. Will you be up there next time? We do love sharing our young peoples’ excellent work #pridekhs
