New Timetable!!

We have made the decision to move forward our new timetable in two phases.  On Monday 19th May, our current S1, S2 and S3 will begin their new timetables as S2, S3 and S4.  We will then welcome our Seniors (S5 & S6) on Monday 2nd June after the SQA exams have finished.  The main reason for this change is to provide our young people with the opportunity to begin their courses earlier, especially for those within S4.

On Monday, we are asking all young people to attend their normal registration classroom.  Young people will remain with their register teacher until 9.15am to allow timetables to be issued and resolve any issues or concerns.

PE Classes – Change of Timetable

Please note the following classes have PE on Monday 19th May when the timetable changes.  All learners should attend with kit please.

Old S1 – New S2: 2K, 2B, 2T1 and 2T2

Old S2 – New S3: 3B, 3T, Any learners who have chosen S3 Elective PE and S3 Rugby Performance

Old S3 – New S4: 4B2 and 4T

Exam Support Sessions

As our SQA exams are now into their final weeks, our subject teachers continue to be available during the morning (Periods 1–5) on the day before each scheduled SQA exam.

These sessions offer a valuable opportunity for additional support, exam paper guidance, and a chance to ask any last-minute questions. We strongly encourage our young people to attend if they can — it could make a real difference to their confidence and performance.

S3 Work Experience Week 2: Monday 19th – Friday 23rd

We’re looking forward to hearing the highlights from the S3 pupils who were out of school last week on work placement.

This week, 17 more of our S3 learners will be out of school. We’re incredibly grateful to the many employers—both local and further afield—who have supported this initiative by offering such a wide range of valuable opportunities.

P7 Visits to Morebattle and Ednam

A huge KHS thank you to Isla, Evie and Sophie who supported Mr Angus and Mrs Changleng yesterday on their visits to Morebattle and Yetholm Primaries as part of this year’s P7/S1 Transition programme. Isla, Evie and Sophie shared their experiences of KHS and answered lots and lots of questions. We would also like to thank P7 learners and primary staff at both Morebattle and Yetholm for the warm welcomes – and we look forward to you joining us here in August at KHS!

P7 Visits to Edenside and Broomlands

And our Primary 7 visits continued on Thursday with visits to both Edenside and Broomlands. It was great to meet so many of our new intake. Mr Angus and Mrs Changleng would like to thank current S1 learners Niah, Kady, Annabel, Skye and Archie for their super presentations and hosting of question and answer sessions where they answered lots of questions from P7s learners. Well done to all involved!

Parent/Carer Voice Survey 2025: Skills Development Scotland

Have you engaged with your secondary school’s Skills Development Scotland (SDS) Careers Adviser in academic year 2024/25? If yes, we would like to find out about your awareness of and use of our services and how you talk to your young person about careers through the completion of a 10-minute survey.

Parent Carer Voice Survey 2025

Your feedback will help us to understand your needs as parents and carers, and how we can improve our services.

The survey will be open until the 31st May 2025.
