Senior Report (S4-S6)
In session 2023-24, we will continue to generate our own in-house reports. These will be emailed to you directly on Monday. This first report provides you with information on Attendance (%), Progress in Learning and being Ready to Learn.
S5/6 Parents’ Evening – Wednesday 22nd November 2023
We are holding our S5/6 Parents’ Evening on Wednesday 22nd November 2023from 5.00pm until 7.30pm. These meetings will be booked online and then held in-person at the school. Our members of staff will be located within our Assembly Hall, Canteen and Flexi-space to limit movement time between appointments however parents / carers are able to take the time to tour the school.
Each appointment will be for a maximum of 5 minutes, if required there will be members of our Pupil Support and Senior Leadership Teams available throughout the evening to answer any questions or queries.
You will be able to book appointments from 5.00pm on Monday 13th November 2023 and the system will remain open to take your bookings until 5.00pm on Tuesday 21st November 2023.

S4 Parents’ Evening Bake Sale
We look forward to welcoming all S4 Parents and Students on Tuesday 14th November to the S4 Parents’ Evening. Our fantastic Prom Committee are on hand throughout the evening selling teas, coffees and some delicious goodies! All money raised will go towards raising funds for the S6 End of Year Prom. Please bring some change and we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday. Any support you can provide will be much appreciated.
The booking system is still open until 5pm on Monday 13th November.

S3-S6 Parent/Carer Study Skills Session
Due to the success of the Study Skills sessions offered to all S4-S6 learners – both within the school day and after school – we would like to offer these sessions to parents/carers. These sessions will be a chance for you to learn more about how best to support your child with their revision.
These sessions are designed to:
- develop an awareness of a range of Study Skills strategies
- develop your child’s skills in managing workload / examination stress
Our first session is detailed below (more dates and sessions to follow):

Charity Movie Night
On Thursday 16th November, our S6 Charity Committee are holding a movie night open to all pupils in S1-S6. This will be in the assembly hall starting at 6pm and ending at 8.45pm. The movie is Iron Man 1. Tickets are £5 payable on ParentPay now and this includes popcorn and refreshments.

Guest Speaker
Our curriculum enrichment continues. On Wednesday we hosted Glenn Campbell, BBC Scotland’s Political Editor, who spoke with our senior Modern Studies and Politics learners about the issues of the day, as well as some very interesting anecdotes from his long career covering the big political stories of the day! Big thanks to our Modern Studies staff for organising and of course Glenn himself for taking the time to join us. #pridekhs

S1 Halloween Buddy Social

Good Luck to Our Under-15 Hockey Team
The very best of luck to our KHS Under-15 Hockey squad who take on Jordanhill School this afternoon at 1:30pm in the Quarter-Final of the Scottish Schools Junior Challenge Cup. Good luck to all involved. Play well and enjoy! We look forward to hearing how you get on. #pridekhs

Well done Cuillin
We are always pleased to hear of the many achievements of our young people outside school and are delighted to share the news that Cuillin in S5 not only represented the Scotland U16 Rugby League team in their recent away match in Ireland, but also scored a try too. Well done, Cuillin, this really is something to be proud of! #pridekhs

Well done Lucas and George
We are a very proud school! Huge congratulations to Lucas and George who recently competed in the Scottish Disability Sport Junior Swimming Championships. Lucas won three Golds – well done Lucas on a magnificent achievement! A huge well done to George on winning a Bronze medal in his first competition for a few years. It is so good to see you back in the pool, George! #pridekhs

Lottery Draw – October 2023
The numbers drawn were 13, 14 and 20.
Unfortunately there were no winners this month so the money will roll over onto next month.
The prize fund of approximately £740 will be drawn at the end of November.
