Weekly Update 10/06/2022

Morning Interval

A quick reminder that from Monday 6th June no pupils are allowed to leave school grounds during morning interval.  We have taken this decision as too many pupils were leaving school grounds to go to either the Co-op or The Juicy Meat Co and were then returning late for their period three class which meant that valuable learning time was being lost.   We would ask for your support in reminding your child that they should remain within school grounds at this time.

New S6 Induction Evening

S6 Leavers Evening

Yesterday evening  – Thursday 9th June –  saw us bid a fond farewell to our S6 leavers with the return of our annual S6 Leavers’ Evening.   A huge thank you to Mrs Jacquie Forrest (Principal Teacher of Modern Languages) who presented leavers with their leavers’ certificates and badges and gave the farewell address to S6.  It was also a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the highlights of the year and we thank our Head Team of Arrianne, Rebecca, Roseanna and Lexi for their ‘A Year in S6’ presentation.  The evening drew to an end with the lowering of the school flag.  Our grateful thanks to:  Abbie, Kenzie, Katie and Sophie for setting up the evening and baking the most delicious cupcakes; to Miss Roden for baking and decorating the most delicious Leavers’ cake and to Mrs Ramsey and Mrs Lothian for their support with the arrangements for the evening and for their support of S6 throughout the year.  We would like to share below some photos of the evening – more can be found on the KHS Facebook page. 

Fun in CDT

S1s have just finished designing and making robots in CDT. They have been developing their skills using a range of tools and equipment in the workshop. Their learning also included setting up the pillar drill and belt sander to create their own characters. #pridekhs

New S1 – New Hockey Kit
