October Holiday
As we head to the end of our first term in what has been one of the most unusual and challenging period experienced in education, I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their ongoing support.
I hope all our young people enjoy a well-earned rest and time to do a bit of what they enjoy. Looking forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday 20th October
SQA Update – National Qualifications 2020/21
You may be aware of the statement made by John Swinney, Deputy First Minister, to the Scottish Parliament this week regarding the National Qualifications for session 2020/21. In summary, there will be no external exams for National 5, however Higher and Advanced Higher exams will still take place as planned.
We will provide more details about what this means for our pupils in due course. However for National 5 candidates, it is now more important than ever before that pupils continue to work hard in class and prepare for all assessments and tasks issued by teachers. It is this evidence that will be used to determine overall performance in a subject and our prelim exams will also help to support this judgement.
Celebration of Achievement
Due to COVID-19, we were unable to host our traditional Celebration of Achievement Evening. This yearly event is important to us and provides a platform to formally recognise and celebrate the huge variety of successes that the Young People from our school who have achieved over the past year. We therefore arranged to meet with young people individually.
