S4/5/6 Alternative Certification Model
Following the recent assessments, teachers have been having individual discussions with learners regarding progress and next steps. Staff and learners are working really hard to gain the best qualifications possible this year. In some cases this means changing the level of qualification that learners are entered for. If this affects your young person, you will be notified by email by the 14th May. We hope to send learners and parents/carers an indication of the grades that we currently have demonstrated evidence for, during the week beginning 17th May. Please note that some subjects (mainly practical) still have significant evidence gathering to complete and will not be able to provide a grade by this date.
Please find attached the timetable for the second assessment window which starts on 24th May.
Parent/Carer Information Session for S4/5/6
There is such a lot of information to take in regarding the Alternative Certification Model, and so we would like to hold another parent information session on Monday 17th May at 16.30. As before, this session will be recorded and the link will be shared, so don’t worry if you are not able to join us at the time. In order to make this session as useful as possible, please email kelsohs@scotborders.gov.uk with any questions you have. We will do our best to answer these on the night.
Uniform
Now that we are all back at school full time we have had a renewed focus on uniform. Our young people have taken this on board and are arriving at school smart and ready to learn. All pupils should wear black trousers/skirt, white shirt, school tie, black shoes, black jumper (apart from S6). We would appreciate your ongoing support with this. Young people grow fast so please let us know where there are difficulties with your young person wearing uniform and we will do our best to support you.

Vaccination Forms
A reminder for all parents who received vaccination consent forms for their young person, to please complete and return this to the school office as soon as possible.
