School Holidays

The school session ends on Tuesday 2nd July – all pupils should be in school until then.

The school office remains open throughout the holidays for enquiries and senior staff will be available to assist with enquiries when SQA results are published on Tuesday 6th August. The new session begins for all pupils on Wednesday 21st August.  In the meantime we wish all our learners and their families a happy holiday.

National 5 Practical Electronics

As part of the Practical Electronics course, some KHS pupils visited Plexus last Friday morning. They were given a tour of the factory and some history of Plexus and what they do and also were given a short tutorial on some of the components that they will be using in the course. They were also given some information on the Graduate apprenticeship scheme that Plexus are now offering.

Thank you to Plexus for welcoming us to their factory. A photograph of our group is below.

Highly commended:Callum Hayward, Casey Watson, Lily Warmington, Izzy Schaeli, Amelie Johnston-Jones, Hannah McGlasson, Lois Rowe

3rd: Jessica Davidson

Highly Commended: Erin Cassidy

1st, 2nd & 3rd in each age group go through to the District round where their work will be judged against other finalists from across the whole of the South of Scotland.

Equestrian Update

Congratulations to Katie Edgar (S5) who has been selected to represent Scotland at the 2019 U18 Championships at Frickley Park in July.  The quality and standard of competition during the qualifying period was very high and we are lucky to have such a depth of young event riders to choose from within the region.  Well done and good luck to Katie and her horse Ardagh Airbourne!!
